Telemedicine

Telemedicine brings pediatric subspecialty health care and consultation including clinic visits and follow-up visits closer to home for families in our region. The expertise of the specialists at the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health is becoming more available to patients and health care providers through telemedicine.

What is Telemedicine

Telemedicine is the use of electronic information and imaging and communication technologies to provide and support health care when distance separates the patient and provider. Telemedicine includes a growing variety of applications and services using interactive video/audio and other forms of telecommunication technologies. The benefits of telemedicine can include improving diagnosis and treatment times with easier access to specialists and help families reduce, and sometimes avoid long and costly travel to Macon for their child’s healthcare.
