The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital is a special unit for infants born preterm and other critically ill newborns. The unit is specially designed to care for infants with state-of-the-art lifesaving equipment and board-certified neonatologists who deliver around-the-clock newborn care.
Our NICU is accredited as a Level III center by the Georgia Department of Public Health, providing advanced care for premature and critically ill newborns. For expectant mothers, this means access to highly specialized teams and support if their baby needs extra care — close to home.
In addition, we are recognized as one of only six Regional Referral Centers within Georgia’s Perinatal System, highlighting our advanced capabilities and expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies and complex newborn conditions.
