Although the first several months of her pregnancy were typical, at 30 weeks, Misti’s twin daughters, Walker and Hayden, were ready to be born. They were delivered via an emergency c-section at Navicent Health, weighing 2lbs 13oz and 3lbs and 2 oz, respectively. Walker and Hayden were immediately taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NNICU) at the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital. Because of their underdeveloped lungs, they were placed on ventilators and monitored constantly until they were healthy enough to breathe on their own. They spent over a month in the NNICU before going home with mom and dad.
Today, Walker and Hayden are healthy 8th graders who enjoy cheerleading and Beta Club.
